When I woke up Noah was already gone and Parker was just sitting at the table, keeping watch on me because of his own stupid rules. When I ask where Noah went he says that Noah went to check out the fire he saw last night.

I'm sure Noah will be fine going there on his own, I do hope that it just was nothing and there weren't actually people there because then he may be in some trouble. Undead are actually not the worst things in this world right now, they're for sure deadly, but not the deadliest. People are more dangerous, since they kill each other and steal from each other. I'm actually lucky that these guys spared my life, they could've killed me easily if I didn't put up a fight. I throw the empty can in the trash and drink up half a bottle of water after to get that disgusting taste out of my mouth.

I sigh and sit on the other side of the table from where Parker is sitting. I lay the map of South-East USA open on the table. Since we're leaving tomorrow morning we do need a plan for where we're heading, I mean we can't blindly walk in East and hope to get to our goal. ''So what's the plan? Where are we heading tomorrow morning or am I not allowed to know?'' I ask Parker with a grin.

"We're heading East, towards what used to be Knoxville, which will take about three days if everything goes as planned. Then we need a day or two to travel to Ashville, entering North Carolina. We'll have to search for people to give us information about the Safe Heaven. All Noah and I know is that it's near the ocean, probably somewhere along the old Morehead City. That's where we're headed." She looks at me full of disbelief. I wonder if it was a good idea to share this much information with her. She could use it against us. She looks at me, disagreeing. "If you don't like it; Do me a favour and stay here to die," is all I say. She looks hurt after I said that and for some reason I feel bad about it.

I stand up and look outside of the window. No sign of Noah yet. I hope he comes back overloaded with supplies, Lord knows we need those.

Parker and I spent half a day doing pretty much nothing, it's almost dawn and Noah is still not back. I don't know if Parker thinks he is still going to come back, what if he got wounded and can't get back here? Parker shows no emotion in that aspect whatsoever. I've been resting all day, almost feels like I've been stuck in this room for weeks now, I used to go out every day before and now I've been inside for two whole days already. Suddenly we hear a sound in the hallway, someone or something is walking in the hallway.

Parker instantly shoots up from his chair and keeps an close eye on the door. I put my hand on my belt, ready to pull out my knife and throw it if needed. The door knob goes down and Noah walks in the room with a big grin on his face. Well the big grin was the first thing I noticed, the second thing was that he is partially covered in blood. ''Wow, you guys seem tense, relax.'' He says as he sees that me and Parker were practicly ready to attack. ''Look what I got us....'' Noah says excited and he drop a bag of stuff onto the table. The bag is filled with food, actually decent food that doesn't make you want to throw up. I smile at him happily, thank go we got some food for at least one or maybe two days.

I grab a cloth from the kitchen and poor a bit of water over it. ''Come sit down, let's clean you up a bit.'' I tell him and he sits down on the chair. It's probably all blood of Undead, he doesn't seem to be hurt or have any deep wounds, that's good. I wipe the blood from his face, but his shirt has the most blood on it. I walk towards the pile of cloths and grab a black men shirt I still kept in the pile. ''Here put this on, because that shirt you have right now will forever be stained.'' I say and throw him the shirt. I'm actually quite glad he got back safely, Parker can sometimes be a bit harsh, but Noah lightens up the mood a bit most of the times.

Noah drops all the food he food proudly on the table and Emilee tells him to sit down in one of the chairs. "Let's clean you up at bit," she says as she makes a cloth a bit wet. I want to tell her that Noah ain't a damned fucking baby and that he can clean himself up just as well. When we tries to give him a new T-shirt I can't hold it: "Who the fuck cares about a stained shirt? The world has gone to shirt and you care about a Goddamned bloodstain someones shirt?" Noah laughs at me, telling me I'm right but he takes the shirt anyway.

I sigh, wondering how we ended up here. I should've gone with him but because of that fucking girl I can't. Noah walks over to me. "I know you don't like her, but look what she's doing, man: She's trying," he says. "You saved her life which means she owes you forever." He grins widely. I know he's right. Then he whispers: "I have even more, but she doesn't need to know." He hands me some engery bars, diffent sorts of canned food and a bottle of water. He blinks to me, throwing an arm over my shoulder. "It's all gonna be fine, bro. And if she bothers you too much," he says slowly in my ear, "then just do what you what you gotta do." He pats me on my chest and walks away, leaving me with the extra secret food.

I hide the food in my bag, without Emilee seeing it, and fold the US map back in, which I stick in my bag as well. I look outside the window again, noticing that most of the Undead are gone now.

But if he wants to have a bath in blood and smell like shit everyday so be it, not going to teach that ass about some basic hygiene.

I just decide to ignore both of them, he needs to get himself together. He doesn't say shit all day, doesn't show any emotions and then suddenly he gets all worked up about absolutely nothing. I walk to the other side of the room and pull up my jeans untill they're above my knee. Slowly I take off the bandage and look at the wound. It's really healing well, but I need to give it some 'fresh air' instead of having it rub against a bandage all day. For now I just decide to leave it with my jeans rolled up and not put the bandage back on it yet.

I lean back in the chair and sigh, thank god we're leaving this room tomorrow. I wouldn't survive a day longer in here. Ofcourse they still don't trust me, and I also still don't trust them. I take a sip of one of my water bottles. If I never met them I would've been in a way better position right now, that guy even took one of my guns. At this point I'm just trying to keep myself alive and not go insane.

I'm really not paying any attention to what they are doing. I actually wonder if Noah came across other people when he was outside. I know for sure he did not use his gun. I noticed that the knifes on his belt were drenched in blood when I cleaned up his face.

I take a seat in one of the chairs, joining Emilee. I grab al my guns; the two hiding in my shoes, my rifle and the handgun Emilee gave me yesterday. I ask for Noahs guns and he puts the two on the table as well. I start to refill all the guns with ammo, which takes a little while since we have five guns to fill. Noah takes a seat as well and helps me refill. We have a lot of new ammo thanks to Emilee and all our guns are filled now. Meanwhile Noah talks about what happened when he left, he told about a group of five people who tried to kill him by attracking a big group of Undead. Noah had to cut a leg from one of the five people, so that he couldn't walk anymore and would be bait for the Undead. He tells this without looking shocked at all. I appreciated that probably most about him.

After a little while Noah says he's going to sleep and asks me to wake him to change watch. He takes of his shirt and lays on the matress I took with me a day ago. It's just me and Emilee now. I grab one of the engerybars Noah gave to me when he returned and it reminds me of a long time ago, when the world hadn't gone to shit yet and I basically lived in the gym in my neighborhood. The bars still taste like shit, maybe even more since they're years old.

Emilee goes to sleep a little later that night and I'm practially alone now. I drink some water and stare out of the window for a bit. I'm excited for the next day; finally leaving this shithole.

A few hours later I wake Noah up, he complains a little bit but gives in after a while. I take his spot on the matress and try to fall asleep which goes harder than I expected to. I keep thinking about the old gym, Noahs story and tomorrow, but after an hour or so, I finally fall into a deep sleep.

I decide not to make a big deal out of it and sit up straight on the couch. I pick up my bandages and wrap them back around my knee, after that I slowly roll my jeans back down and stand up.

I pick up my backpack while Noah is waking Parker up. I'm so happy I can finally leave this room. I am a little scared though, Noah said he came across a group of people yesterday that tried to kill him. I'd know for sure that if we come across people today Noah and Parker would just sacrifice me if that was needed to save their own skin. I check my belt, my two knifes are still in there that's good. I grab my P-90 from the table and lean against the wall, basicly waiting for the other two to get ready. They're picking up their backpacks and their guns.

As we walk through the hotel we try to make the least amount of noise possible, not wanting to attract any Undead. As we leave the hotel we decide to go into the first alley to the right to avoid as much Undead as possible. Well Parker mainly makes the choices about where we're going and what the route is. Right now it just feels like I'm following commands of some kind of king, which is already getting on my nerves. I don't say anything about it though, as long as I shut up and do what he says for now I'll be fine.

When Noah wakes me up I see that Emilee and Noah have already packed all their stuff. I get up and notice that I'm terribly hungry. I decide to eat something after I gathered all my stuff. I walk over to the table and start packing all my stuff eventhough I did most of that yesterday. After I restored the handguns in my shoes, put the other gun in the pockets of my pants and pick up my rifle, I glance over to Noah. He's sitting on the chair, waiting on me.

"Let's go!" Noah says excited as he stands up from the chair. We give the room a quick check to see if we actually have everything with us and then we leave the hotel as quiet as possible.

When we're finally outside, I feel like I can breathe again. The hotel smelled worse than I noticed at first and I finally breathe in fresh for the firste time in three days. Emilee goes right into an alley, avoiding a hord of Undead so Noah and I follow her. I don't like follow her, but she knows this place better than Noah and I do, so I guess we don't really have a choice. I keep thinking about what Noah said: 'You saved her life, man, she owes you forever.'

The sun burns bright and we have a three day walk ahead of us. We take short breaks every now and then to eat, drink and rest. After about 7 hours of walking Noah askes where we'd sleep tonight. I tell him to keep walking and we'll see. Noah starts to bitch about being tired, not feeling his legs anymore and about missing the couch back in the hotel already. As he starts pulling my arm to continue this bullshit, I look at him. "If you wanna go back to that fucking hotel, there it is," I tell him through my teeth and point in the direction where we came from. He rolls his eyes at and I'm about to lost my shit. I thought I'd get tired of Emilee instead of Noah.

"Do you have to act like a goddamn ringleader all the fucking time?" Noah asks, looking directly in my eyes.

"If you're gonna behave like a fucking child, you leave me no choice," I fire back walk past him, our shoulders bumping into eachother. For a second I think he won't follow me, but I keep walking. Emilee slowly walking after me.

Noah and Parker suddenly start arguing about how bossy Parker was being. Parker walks past Noah and keeps walking like the stuck up guy he is. I sigh and keep walking behind Parkerk, hoping that Noah would be smart enough to just follow us and not leave me with this guy. Their bond seems to be pretty strong so I doubt Noah would leave because of this little argument. We keep walking through the different city buildings, we slowly walk into a more urban area.

I can't stop thinking about the fact that I'm walking here with two guys now, they're both armed and ready to hurt me. If I'd get into a nasty situation, I don't think they would safe me. They would safe their own ass and leave me behind. The urban area is a mess, the houses are broken down, car's are wrecked and trash is all over the place. Plants have outgrown the gardens and the emptyness fills the air. Parker is still walking up front, holding his gun with caution, being very careful of not making any type of sound. Parkers stops for a second and turns around towards me and Noah. ''This area seems to be clear of any undead, doesn't mean that you can make a lot of sound ofcourse.'' He says and lowers his gun. ''Let's go into that house on the corner, the garage is open so we can get in there easily.'' I nod and we start walking towards the house on the corner. We shouldn't forget that there could also be people hiding in these houses, even though I'd doubt it, there is still a chance.

We get to the house without attracting any undead and walking into the garage which is connected to the main part of the house. The doors are broken open and the windows are hammered shut with wooden planks. We walking into the house with caution, it seems to be empty. Suddenly we hear a noise from upstairs and Noah grabs me by my shoulder making sure I don't instantly walk towards the sound. Parker starts going up the stairs and Noah stays with me, ofcourse their stupid rule that I should always be with one of them. Suddenly we something fall upstairs and a soft swear from Parkerk. Then seconds later a cat sprints down the stairs and runs out of the house, who knew a cute little cat could scare 3 people to death.

Eventually Noah follows us and we keep walking for a while. After a short while the area around us gets more and more urban-like. We look around for a bit for a place to sleep in. I turn around a look at Noah: "This area seems to be clear of any undead, doesn't mean that you can make a lot of sound ofcourse." I glance at him and he rolls his eyes, "Aye, boss," he grins. I ignore him and the pounding in my head that tells me I barely ate today.

When we enter a garage, there is a soft but very clear noise from upstairs. Emilee stays with Noah when I go up the stairs. I hear Emilee sigh, which I ignore as well. I do a lot of ignoring these days. It is dark upstairs and my eyes need to get used to the darkness. I hear the noise again and point my gun towards the sound and all of a sudden a cat jumps out of a box and runs down the stairs. "God damnit," I whisper into myself, realising I just got scared by cat.

I hear Noah laugh downstairs. I walk down the stairs again and find Noah holding the cat in his arms. Emilee gets closer to the cat as well and cuddles it. "You're sweet," she whispers.

"Yeah, but this beast could also attrack a hell of a lot Undead," Noah says and without a single warning he turns around the neck of the poor cat. Emilee lets out a quick yell. "What?" Noah says casually and throws the dead body of the cat on the floor. I stare at him, pretty angry. "What?" Noahs says again, but doesn't wait for me to answer: "We can eat her, but I prefer something else. Let's search for some food," he says, and so we do.

We go through the house, looking for food and water. When Emilee is looking in the kitchen, I walk over to Noah, who's in the hallway.

"You could have at least warned her," I his through my teeth.

"Oh, what, now all of a sudden you care about she feels?" He asks in a whisper.

"Well.. No, what the hell." It comes out as a stutter. "It's just.. She just said it was sweet and all, I don't think it was fair."

"It wasn't fair of you to make her come with us, either, but you did that as well," he whispers, making sure she won't hear us.

I look over my shoulder, she's grabbing some things out of the kitchen. I ignore Noah and walk over to her. "You good?" I ask her casually, realising how stupid that must have sounded. "I mean, you thirsty?" I hand her a water bottle I just found.

I yelped when Noah suddenly killed the cat. His face was emotionless and had no mercy for that poor animal he just dropped on the floor. I was taken a-back for a bit, but switched back to reality pretty quickly after. We decided to search the house for some food. While they were searching other parts of the house I went towards to the kitchen. Opening all the cabinets, the only thing I found we're some cookies and one jar without a label, not sure if I even want to know what is in it at this point.

I hear someone walk up behind me and see Parker standing at the entrance of the kitchen. ''You good, I mean you thirsty?'' He asks me a little unsure.

I give him a small smile and shake my head. ''I still had some water in my own backpack, don't worry. I'm mostly just tired and my leg is starting to hurt more now that we have walked such a long way.'' I answer his question. I slowly walk more towards him and lean on the kitchen table. ''I'll go rest for a bit on the the bed upstairs, wake me up if you need me or need to switch at night.'' I say and walk past him and Noah, up the stairs and drop down onto the bed.

I still have trust issues with them, I don't know them at all. How many people have they killed before they met me, why did they have mercy on me and what will they do if we come across more people. Will they butcher them like the people don't matter, just as Noah did with the cat? My thoughts keep going all over the place, but for now it looks like I'm one of them and I need to stay with them. even though they're brutal killers, at this moment they are also my biggest chance at survival.

It was already starting to get darker outside, after this long walk today I was really tired. I could hear Parker and Noah talk downstairs, sadly I could not understand what they were saying so I gave up on trying to listen and got some well needed rest.

I go through the kitchen a bit more, realising Emilee had already done that, and continued to the small livingroom era. There was an old conversation pit and the couches looked fucking comfortable. I went through some cabinets until Noah walked into the livingroom as well. "Didn't find much," he says and helped me looking though the room. "Me neither. Found these, tho," I said and hold up a bottle of wine and a shampoo bottle. "You sure as hell can use that second bottle," Noah jokes, glancing over to the shampoo. I grin and take a seat in the conversation pit. I was right about these couches being comfortable. I lay my head back, resting it for a bit.

"Here," Noah says. As I look up he's holding a can of food. "You barely eat."

"Yes, mom," I answer as I grab the can from him. I see a flash of pain in his eyes by the word mom and realise I haven't hear that word in a very long time. There are certain things Noah and I don't really talk about, like our parents or our family. And because of this -and everything esle that has been going on in the world- some world completely vanished out of our vocabulary.

I eat the gross fucking food and swallow it down with some water. "I don't know if her leg can take another day of walking," I tell Noah, who's almost fallen asleep on the couch.

"Whatever," He shrugs. "I don't want her to slow us down more than she already has." I know he has a point, so I stop talking about it. After a while Noah has fallen asleep, so I take first watch.

A little while later I hear some sounds upstairs, so I decide to take a look and see what's going on.

I wake up not a lot of time later, covered in sweat. God it's warm in this room, well that's only logical since this whole room is closed and wood panels are in front of the windows. I sit up straight on the bed, don't know how late it is, it should probably be around midnight, maybe a bit later.

I get my flashlight and shine it upwards towards the ceiling so thw whole room lights up. Slowly I turn to sit on the side of the bed, I pull my jeans upwards and look at the wound. Lord help me, this is not good. I forgot to clean it last night. After we walked all day it put a lot of pressure on the wound, I should have at least cleaned it with some water but I fell asleep instantly after I layed down on the bed. So fucking stupid of me, I curse silently and slowly unwrap the bandage from my leg.

I looks at the wound an shine my flashlight on it, I need to clean this with some water as soon as possible. I stand up from the bed and walk out of the bedroom. Where the fuck is the bathroom, I open a few doors and finally I find it. The bathroom is also a fucking mess, not surprising ofcourse. ''Fuck'' I curse loudly as I trip over the rolled up bath mat and pull myself up again on the sink. It's so dark in here I can't see shit, and ofcourse electricity doesn't work. I switch my flashlight on and lay it in the sink so I at least have some sort of lamp.

I sit down on the side of the bathtub and grab a waterbottle from my bag. I slowly poor the water over my leg into the bathtub. Luckily it isn't infected, but the wound seems to have opened again partially, which sucks. I hear someone coming up the stairs, but I don't care for it again. The tub looks like a fucking bloodbath.

As I open the door to where Emilee went asleep, I notice that the bed is empty. I leave the empty room and start looking for her. I hear her and open one of the doors. She is on her knees in the bathtub, which is covered in blood.

"What the fuck?" I almost yell and walk over to the sink, where I grab a towel. I turn on the water and make the towel a bit demp. "Here," I say as I give her the towel. I hurry out of the room and wake up Noah. "Grab the First Aid Kit," I tell him as I walk back upstairs. Her legs, arms and the bathtub are comepletly covered in blood as I come back upstairs. "What the fuck did you do?" I ask her as I grab the towel out of her hands. I hold pressure on the wound and look at her. Her face is pale and her eyes are closed.

Noah walks into the small bathroom as well. "Did she fucking kill herself or something?" He hisses through his teeth as he walks in. I look up from the bathtub, directly in his eyes. "If anyone killed her that would have been you!" I tell him since the wound in her leg is still his fault.

He throws the Kit in my direction and I open it, looking for bandages and some sort of anti-bacterial. I find a small bottle of alcohol and dab it onto the towel as well, dabbing the towel on the wound. "Don't fall asleep," I tell her as I bind some new bandages around the wound after cleaning up most of the blood on her legs.
